Just three months earlier Tory chair Oliver Dowden had said: “Hosting COP26 gives us the opportunity to provide global leadership on climate change, working with all countries to inspire climate action.”

COP26 was a climate summit entirely focused on creating solutions to reach Net Zero across the globe.

Verdict

Tory chair Oliver Dowden sent one message to COP 26 and another to Tory activists at the Spring Conference. 

We approached Oliver Dowden’s parliamentary office and the Cabinet Office to give him a chance to comment, but received no response.
