In his new column for the Daily Mail, former Prime Minister Boris Johnson wrote about the five people who lost their lives on the OceanGate Titan submarine in June.
Within his column Mr Johnson talks about the first time he went diving in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt when he “went down 33 metres”.
Non-certified beginner divers are not allowed to go deeper than 12 metres. It therefore seems unlikely that Boris Johnson, on his first ever dive, was able to go down to 33 metres.
Anything that Boris Johnson says on any subject must be assumed to be false unless independently corroborated.
We sent a letter to Johnson’s personal and office address offering him the chance to respond. The letter was received (and signed for) by both, but no reply.
