Jeremy Corbyn “plans to wreck the economy with a £1.2 trillion spending plan”
Boris Johnson in a speech in Oldham, live on Sky News
The prime minister told supporters that Labour’s economic plans would “wreck the economy” and that the £1.2 trillion of additional spending would cost each family an extra “£2,400” in taxes.
Labour’s manifesto had not been published, let alone costed.
Johnson’s £1.2 trillion figure is a palpable fabrication. Full Fact concluded: “Many of the figures behind this estimate are uncertain or based on flawed assumptions.”
