Facts
Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, speaking in the House of Commons, referred to asylum seekers entering the UK as an "invasion".
Verdict
Suella was doubtless using “invasion” as a figure of speech. But the migrants crossing in small boats were not armed and attempting to take over Britain. This was a misleading, not to mention inflammatory, statement from Braverman.
We emailed Suella Braverman’s office and the Home Office offering them the chance to respond. The email was received by both, but no reply.
