Steven Swinford and Chris Smyth of The Times reported that Sajid Javid “insists that the NHS will not receive any more money and says that the focus will now be on reform. The NHS now has locked in the resources it needs. It doesn’t need any more money. What it needs to deliver for more people is not money: It needs reform.”

Meanwhile, the number of people on NHS waiting lists in England is at a record high. According to a recent report, the loss of 25,000 NHS beds has caused a ‘serious patient safety crisis.’ NHS A&E nurses are warning patients of 13-hour waits to see a medic. 

Verdict

Though many will disagree, Health Secretary Sajid Javid was expressing an opinion.
