Facts

Downing Street denied that Mr Johnson had requested a meeting with senior civil servant Sue Gray, ahead of her report into partygate. 

But days later, Mr Johnson’s official spokesperson admitted that it was Downing Street Officials who suggested the meeting. 

He said: “The technical meeting request came through from Sue Gray, but it was initially suggested by officials in No10 that it may be something that she might want to consider.”

Verdict

The Downing Street spokesperson here disseminating the false claim that Boris Johnson had not requested a meeting with Sue Gray.

We approached the No10 Press Office to give them a chance to comment, but received no response.
