When asked by Sam Coates on Sky News, “Do you think Boris Johnson always tells the truth?”, Tory MP Stuart Anderson responded: “Yes, I do.” 

Verdict

We have documented numerous lies, falsehoods and misleading statements made by the Prime Minister on this website. 

We emailed Mr Anderson a link to this website, noting that “we have documented numerous lies, falsehoods and misleading statements made by the Prime Minister … Including more than 50 occasions when the Prime Minister has misled the House of Commons and subsequently failed to correct the record in defiance of the Ministerial Code.” We pointed out that he must have sat through numerous PMQs where Johnson misled the Commons before asking  “Do you still believe that Boris Johnson always tells the truth?”

We approached Stuart Anderson’s parliamentary office to give him a chance to comment, but received no response.

It is extraordinary how many Tory MPs and ministers are ready to trash their own reputations  to defend Boris Johnson.
