The above message was sent by Rishi Sunak in the wake of his “five pledges” speech two days earlier. Note how all qualifications and explanations have been truncated to  short, bald statements. Those statements are either false or misleading. For example, Rishi Sunak had no plans at all to reduce debt. Indeed his Chancellor, Jeremy Hunt, plans to increase it.  In Sunaks speech he had promised to legislate to stop boats, not actually stop boats etc etc.

 Verdict

 Any ordinary voter who believed Rishi Sunak’s Twitter feed would be misled. 

We emailed Rishi Sunak’s office and Downing Street offering them the chance to respond. The email was received, but no reply.
